Returning to the landmark Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich, the 4th Europe-Iran Forum was held on October 3-4 in Zurich, Switzerland. Nearly 450 business leaders, policymakers, and journalists from 30 countries attended.
The event took place on the eve of the Trump administration's decision to "de-certify" Iran's compliance with the JCPOA. The gathered business leaders engaged in high-level and technical discussions not just about opportunities in their sectors, but also about how to manage political uncertainty, especially around the issue of sanctions snapback.
Keynote speeches from Helga Schmidt, Secretary General of the European Union's External Action Service, and Mehdi Karbasian, Iran's Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade and Chairman of IMIDRO, provided clear and timely messaging on the firm European and Iranian commitment to the program of post-sanctions trade and investment.
